SHOULD I DEFER MY NYC MARATHON DUE TO KNEE PAIN?

Recently, we had a runner come to see us at Recover Health due to persistent knee pain from running. They had gone to see a Sports Medicine doctor who advised them to stop running, and cancel their plans to run the New York City Marathon.

We disagreed with their doctor, and was ultimately able to help them return to running pain free in just 2 weeks.

You don't necessarily have to stop running, but repeatedly pushing through worsening pain isn't a great strategy either. The goal is to determine what your body can currently tolerate and gradually build your capacity from there. An Injury Rehab session can help identify what's contributing to the problem and create a plan around your specific running goals.

At Recover Health, we work with runners and active adults to address pain, improve strength and movement, and get back to the activities they enjoy. If you’re running the New York City Marathon and want to get back to running with less pain, schedule an assessment session with us.
